Askew In Bloom

It was a long hard winter, but eventually, just in time for Easter we were rewarded for our labours. God blessed us with a lovely show of daffodils.

Christmas Coffee Morning

Instead of the usual stalls, we ate mince pies, and sang carols together. Mike in a splendid waistcoat accompanied us on the organ. It was a lovely atmosphere and we were very thankful for the gifts placed on our special tree towards church funds.

Planting Daffodils

In October 2009 we felt it would be good to show that our church is looking to the future, and picking up on our harvest image of a daffodil bulb drawing on its roots, we decided that we would plant some daffodils, 20kg in all. Hopefully come spring they will come up in a beautiful array of different blooms, bless our neighbourhood and lift our spirits.

Coffee Morning

Our October coffee morning was in aid of Dove House, something we do each year. We also said goodbye to Beatrice who is heading down to Peterborough to be with her family.

Circuit Prayerathon

A number of people from across the circuit moved around a selection of the churches in the circuit,.praying for our mission and the places we serve throughout the day in October. The group came and joined us at Askew for an hour, and we brought our hopes, dreams and concerns for the area before God together.

We were pleased to celebrate the marriage of Robert Hattersley and Angela Flynn on the 22nd of August 2009. The couple live locally in Gispyville and joined with their family for this joyous occasion.
